The last weekend of summer Lithuanians and foreign guests in Vilnius will gather in the city inspired urban festival – LOFTAS FEST 2015. It has been named as the best kept secret event by foreign guests and journalists and is a perfect getaway for those in constant search of novelty and inspiration. LOFTAS FEST brings most up-to-date artists on their line up and creates the euphoric atmosphere that lingers in the festival area. It feels like a city within a city where different rules apply. It will take place on 28th -30th of August just a few steps away from the Vilnius city center in the backyard of legendary arts factory LOFTAS.
Design square and art above your head
LOFTAS FEST continues the annual search for audiovisual artists and invite them to join the visual part of the festival: “Art and lights installations will be lifted up and filled up with lights. That will be a completely different kind of Art exposition that everyone is used to see”, – says one of the main organizers Živilė Diawara. Closer to the ground LOFTAS FEST crew is setting up a design square. Here everyone will be able to find unique design units for a special summer sale price. The design square will be filled with Lithuanian artists and creators from the neighbouring countries.
Music – for those who have an eye for it
“Of course everyone is most eager to know about the music part of the festival – who is in the line up. This year we are more concentrated on fresh music discoveries. Music festival for those with their eyes wide open. Also we have a strong line up for techno stage – a list of names that proved their success, almost legends.” – says Victor Diawara.

Conference that looks into the future
The 4th urban festival has already built up some anticipation in the overseas media. Journalists and bloggers from UK, Austria, France and USA listed their wish to visit “LOFTAS FEST” this year as well. “Not only journalists from all over the world, but also music industry people – promoters, producers, festival organizers and owners of certain venues in Europe – are coming for this year’s festival edition” – said V. Diawara
They all will meet in “WHAT’S NEXT in Music?” conference on the second day of the festival. Talks and discussions about the real time action in music industry, novelty projects here in Lithuania and abroad will keep industry people involved all day in the same industrial surroundings.
Cinema under the stars
During LOFTAS FEST music lovers that also like good movies will be able to see a list of this year’s most interesting movies, few retrospectives and unique documentary. All of the movies will be screened in the industrial surroundings under the stars on a huge “Pasaka” cinema theatre screen.
The festival will feature the premieres of internationally acclaimed movies as for example: thriller “Victoria” (2015), drama “Eisenstein in Guanajuato” (2015), comedy “Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au Bon Dieu?” (2014), comedy “Les Gazelles” (2014) and others.
OUTRO
LOFTAS FEST is a baby that was born in the art factory LOFTAS, a venue that is holding over 200 events every year in Vilnius. After realizing that there are no urban or/and indoor festivals in Lithuania, an organic decision was made to organize one. It became an ideal place to feel the vibe of a city inspired festival, not stepping out of the city. Last year the festival was visited by 7000 explorers who where in search for new things.
