George Redhawk makes incredible GIFs. What makes them even more amazing is that the artist is legally blind. Having lost most of his vision, Redhawk’s work is an attempt to capture the nature of this experience in visual form.
In presenting us with these moving images Redhawk is seeking to challenge the viewer’s perceptions of normality, just as his own lived experience has been altered by blindness. His art, in his own words, is designed ‘to challenge and in some cases, disturb the visual sense of ‘order’.
