Tomorrow ‘The Drawing Year 2014-15’ exhibition will open at the Royal Drawing School. Displaying 300 drawings, the exhibition features works made by the 28 students who have studied on the School’s postgraduate programme. The most promising talents art Christabel Forbes, James Albon and Geraint Evans who used to work in a chip shop just about a year ago.
What’s special about the school is that the postgraduate course comes with a full scholarship on top of a complimentary studio space (in the Tea building in Shoreditch) – no wonder places are so sought-after!
Previously called The Prince’s Drawing School, the School was founded by Prince Charles and artist Catherine Goodman in 2000 and has grown from teaching 40 students in a small attic in East London, to teaching drawing to over 1000 students each week in five studio campuses across London. Last year the School was granted the Royal title.
It’s a great opportunity to discover emerging talents and perhaps get a Christmas present with a royal blessing? The price range is £80 – 2,500.
