    ‘What separates two things’ is a new photo-project by Anne-Laure Etienne. According to the artist, these series represent the separation of two worlds. The suit is the outward symbol of spiritual activity and the visible form of the inner man. The garment is like a curtain, an ornament, a border that veils and unveils. In this light, the object that is the garment varies according to the choice of colors, and the state of mind in which the character exist. It evokes through the image, confinement but also flourish. The fabric is normally used to protect (cold for example), and in these images it becomes vector concealment, a way of hiding “what is not visible”.
