See a Different Side of Culture with Skinhead: An Archive

TM2466

Skinhead: An Archive published by Ditto and designed by Jamie Reid shows a huge collection of Skinhead pictures and posters curated by Toby Mott. Issues about the contradictions within the Skinhead movement are addressed in the book Skinhead: An Archive. From the 60’s to the 80’s, Skinhead culture was shown and collected from pictures, zines, posters, films and other printed materials created by skinheads.

The book explores this controversial, radical, confusing and misunderstood subculture and multi-faceted movement through the collected ephemera. Sections include the original iteration of skinhead, the fascist interpretation, the socialist counterpoint, queer skinhead culture, exploitation literature, skin girls, and everything in between.

Risograph and offset-litho printing reproduces the original materials. There is also an exclusive font design developed from a 1980’s Penthouse skinhead article. The book includes text from writers with skinhead culture experience, Bruce LaBruce and Garry Bushell.

Lethal Amounts book signing and exhibition in Los Angeles, California will take place Saturday 13th February from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. at 1226 W 7th St. The exhibition will last until 12th March. Also, the LA Art Book Fair will hold book signing at the Ditto Press exhibitor stand on Sunday 14th February at 3:00 p.m. at 152 North Central Avenue.
