Clash of the past and future with flying cars by Alejandro Burdisio

What will the future be like? Will there be high-speed freeways in the air? Will flying cars be the main mode of transportation, zipping through skyscrapers at the speed of light? Will the new style Ford cars for sale today still be on wheels around the streets of London?  Artist Alejandro Burdisio created paintings that may just be looking into the future of transportation.

From Argentina, Burdisio clashes the past and future in his flying car paintings. The cars that are flying around, a technology that has yet to be accomplished, are all older models. The paintings feature floating cities surrounded by vintage cars mounted on flying mechanisms. A classic 1970’s Volkswagen van is featured next to an island in the clouds.

Burdisio’s work as an architectural illustrator may have inspired the detailed designs of buildings in his paintings. His Facebook states that he enjoys creating fantasy worlds. In his flying car paintings, you can fly into your own future fantasy in your favorite vintage car model. Burdisio explores what it would be like to travel at any height in the sky.
