Neil Harbisson hears color

neil-harbisson

Imagine your world was completely colorless. Everything you saw was black and white, just like an old fashioned television show.

That’s what Neil Harbisson‘s world is like since he was diagnosed with an extreme form of colourblindess called achromatopsia. But, this didn’t stop his desire to see colors. Harbisson is the first person in the world to have an antenna implanted in his skull and for officially being recognised by the government as a cyborg. The antenna he uses analyzes colors and turns them into sounds. He uses this medium as a way to create art and find colors in his colorless world.
