Anoosha Syed is a children’s book illustrator that has given traditional Disney princesses a much needed modern day makeover.
In her quirky project she shows some of the cartoon classics in a new light by depicting them as they would behave and look today, equipped with mobile phones, tattoos and cooler attitudes.
Anoosha’s reimagination of the ladies still maintains the original qualities of the much loved heroines, so they are still recognisable.
In the addition to the illustrations the Canadian artist tried to demonstrate each of their personalities by writing little backstories for the characters.
Each princess also has little homages to their movies they starred in, giving the cartoons and extra Disney feel despite dragging them into the 21st century.
