From trash to treasure. Artist Thomas Dambo uses trash and recycled materials to create massive sculptures, furniture and art pieces. Dambo sees the potential in things people throw out and creates something beautiful out of them. Forming mystical creatures appearing like fairytale characters, he plays with perspective and the human figure. He initially studied as a carpenter and then decided to use those skills in creating art after realising the repetitiveness of building made him bored. Now, he is able to create sculptures for all to enjoy rather than pieces that are hidden in the confines of one’s home.
