The last time they played Oval Space they sold out weeks in advance. The waiting list hit 100. Now “London’s chillest classical music ensemble” (Time Out) are back with two dates at Bethnal Green’s amazing Oval Space.
The Little Orchestra are transforming the space with a Spanish theme and getting ready to play “an hour of seriously summery Mediterranean-inspired classical music” followed by an after-party featuring the Francisco Antonio Guitar Duo.
On 2 and 3 June, in a chilled-out Oval Space, the audience are invited to unwind over a drink with friends before being transported by the music at 8.30pm. The party continues afterwards with the Francisco Antonio guitar duo, more food, drink and mingling from 10.00pm until midnight.
The concert itself lasts an hour and has no interval. A great Spanish guitar concerto and an Italy-inspired symphony are at the centre of an evening designed for a crowd who ‘don’t often do classical’.
“We want to share great classical music in an unclassical setting” says the little o’s founder and conductor Nicholas Little, “and part of our aim is to create an intimate and sociable atmosphere so we keep our events small, around 200 people. We think it’s going to be a great night out!”
Tickets: £10 (balcony, standing), £22.50 (standard seat) and £65 (two-person luxury sofa).
