Kilts are often made out of tartan material.
American artist Sean Landers decided to take this tradition and transform it into a whimsical fantasy world where – instead of kilts – animals are made out of tartan. His piece blur the lines between fact and fiction, making the viewer question their perception of the world around them. Using both humor and confession, Landers’ work draws in a thought provoking ideology of animals verses humans. How can we imply humans are the more dominate species? Shouldn’t it simply be equal? There is no correct answer, but the artist simply wants us to contemplate the idea.
