Kindra Nikole has created dream worlds. Based in Seattle, she used mixed media drawing on real scenes to create new ones. Dream and fantasy combine in alluring pictures. Strongly pigmented natural surroundings often feature a woman with light blonde hair.
Props, sets and costumes are often made by Nikole to set up the scene. Editing is another way Nikole makes the photos dreamlike. She prints them onto giclée paper and mounts the picture on a wood panel. Nikole embellishes them with acrylics or metal-leaf techniques to create a one of a kind painting. Glazed in resin, the final product has a glassy look.
Nature can be a driving force for art everywhere. For Nikole, it fuels her work. Some photos even have an Alice in Wonderland feel.
