Whether you’ve got the entire family at home, or you just need something interesting to do with your best friend, we’ve got some amazing Christmassy activities for you to take part in.

  • Organise a family games night with your console

If you were lucky enough to get one of the newer consoles for Christmas, then you’ll have hours of entertainment ahead of you. If you’ve opted for the Nintendo Switch, games like Lego Marvel Superheroes offer multiplayer gaming, so you can create a team of up to 4 people! Perfect for gathering around the TV with a turkey sandwich. If you already own an Xbox One, then racing games like Project Cars 2 is brilliant for bringing out the competitive side in your relatives, even granddad!

  • Make slow cooker Christmassy play dough

Fancy getting a little messy? This super-easy play dough recipe takes less than an hour to create! And, you can make it super-festive by adding Christmas colours and glitter! All you need is:

  • 230g flour
  • 115g salt
  • 4 tbsp cream of tartar
  • 230 ml of water
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1-2 tsp of food colouring
  • Craft glitter of your choice

Combine all the dry ingredients in one bowl, and the wet ingredients in another. Pour the dry ingredients into your slow cooker then slowly add the wet ingredients. Stir thoroughly.

Place a tea towel over the slow cooker, then pop the lid on. Cook on high for 50 minutes, stirring every ten minutes for the first 30 minutes, then one last time for the last 20 minutes.

You’ll know it’s done when the dough doesn’t stick to your fingers when you make a little ball from the mixture. Knead the mixture well, and add your glitter.

Store your play dough in an air tight container. For a bit of fun during the Christmas Eve bath – try this play dough soap recipe!
