The Move to the Digital – The Future of Technology’s Influence on Our Lives

Technology has pervaded every aspect of our lives, and this trend is only going to continue. Soon, augmentation won’t be beyond us, and yet, in the timeline of history, this sort of technology has only been with us for a few short years. Most of the planet remembers a time when mobile phones didn’t exist and computers were too large and too simple to exist anywhere beyond office floors. Now, you can have a powerful computer right in your pocket.

We have been steadily moving towards digital for a while now. Things we used to do solely in real life can now be done online, like online shopping. Though the need for physical stores is still there for those who want to try on items before they buy and for window shoppers, every store has an online component, because not having one is a huge mistake. You no longer have to go to the casino to have fun – you can do it wherever you are through live casino Unibet. You don’t need to travel either, as the Agoraphobic Traveller has shown us. Soon, our move to digital will go even further, and include:

  1. Virtual and Augmented Reality

The gaming industry and the marketing industry are already experimenting with ways to use VR headsets, but it can go so much further than gaming and recreational use through Pokémon Go. VR and Augmented reality can make 3D modelling easier and more hands-on. It has the potential to change our world completely. It will enhance the sales experience, allowing you a first-hand look at products and even experiences. It will allow people to work and collaborate with each other across the world with ease and with a sense of realism, and it will continue from there. Of all the trends to hit the technology stage, VR and Augmented Reality will continue to grow and develop.

  1. Environment Reinvigoration

We will continue to move away from fossil fuels and continue to innovate towards renewable energy. From atmospheric energy collection (collecting the energy that is in the air, and to us shows up as lightning) to improved wind and solar energy collection, there are more ways than ever to power our lives without burning through our planet. We have also begun development on towers that can suck CO2 out of the air and replace it with Oxygen, as China is currently trialling. Soon, our world will be a greener place.

  1. Artificial Intelligence

Quantum computing is the new space race. This is a whole new way to compute, and doesn’t deal with 1s and 0s, and yes or no answers as our current computers do. Instead, quantum computing can deal with complex programs all at once, and are able to compute yes and no answers. This computing will make complex equations and scenarios easier and faster to deduce than before, and will undoubtedly bring AI to the next level.

There are so many ways that the future is changing, and knowing how those changes will affect you, and how you can use them to benefit your business will put you at the forefront of innovation.
