Ever wanted to be part of one of your favourite films? The Book Club in Shoreditch is launching a brand new monthly immersive movie night (tickets are just £10!) Cinema Paradiso, complete with European vintage classic films, free pizza slices, themed cocktails and dancing to a live band. A night of summer romance!
Sack off Sunday nights with Netflix on the sofa and get down to The Book Club’s basement, which each month will been transformed into a different enchanting time and place, from swinging 60s London to rural 30s Sicily to the bohemian attics of 60s Paris.
Each month will be based around a different European cult classic film from the 60s to 80s with immersive food, cocktails decor and live house band. Upcoming titles include The Italian Job and The Dreamers.
Cinema Paradiso will open on the 24th of June, with our first feature film screening – Giuseppe Tornatore’s ‘Cinema Paradiso’ (did you see that coming?!) An undoubted classic of Italian and world cinema, ‘Cinema Paradiso’ strikes a balance between arthouse and commercial film heralded by critics and the box office alike. With strong emotive themes of love, friendship and the experience of cinema itself, coupled with its rural 1940s Sicilian setting, Cinema Paradiso is the perfect film to for us all to get lost in. We’ll also have an authentic Italian band to get you dancing.
