The new build is being completed in phases with Resorts World expected to open in 2020 and will comprise of 3,400 hotel rooms, a casino with more than 100,000 square feet of space, authentic Chinese restaurants as well as shopping opportunities with retail and boutiques. There is also going t an exotic club venue.
Another new name is the Drew Las Vegas which was formerly known as Fontainebleau and the blue tinted tower will be the very first JW Marriott hotel on the Strip. Due to open in 2020 the Drew Las Vegas has over 60 stories – and the building will feature 4,000 rooms – half a million square feet for convention and event space as well as a casino.
The hotel hasn’t really enjoyed a good history with many failed plans and bankrupted projects. The Fontainebleau was initially designed as a multi-billion resort but the recession of 2008 saw an end to that project.
After being bought back in 2010 it was then left untouched until it was bought once again in the autumn of 2018. Plans for the building include a bridge which will connect The Drew to the Las Vegas Convention Centre nearby.
2019 was the year that the iconic Hard Rock became Virgin Hotel Las Vegas the renovation is expected to lead to the hotel being opened in late spring 2020 after every inch has been remodelled and rebranded. Upgrades will include new hotel room, restaurants and bars as well as a redesigned pool. The casino housed in the Virgin Hotel is to be expanded and the event space will be modernized too.
