The Message by Ali Gulec could be interpreted a lot of ways. Not much in each illustration is the same, other than one thing: each one is a skull. Istanbul-based artist Gulec shows the skull in something other than bone.
The skull is the chief object in Gulec’s collection. It’s not always clearly defined, and no two are the same. Some are made of animals, flowers, mixtapes, or even a room. Gulec creatively sees skulls in many places, or creates them out of several objects. The colors and textures in the pictures make you look closely at what they’re made of. These cool illustrations will make you wonder what The Message really is.
