Photographer Pelle Cass takes hundreds of photographs and compiles them into one. The catch is, he picks the subjects he wants to keep in his ‘Selected People’ collection.
In a public area, Cass takes pictures and uses composite techniques to include whoever passes by. He chooses if he wants everyone or just a handful of people. The product is a world overfilled with pedestrians. People populate the area to a ridiculous degree. Many contain more than one image of the same person, dog or squirrel.
Without about a hundred layers in Photoshop, we wouldn’t be able to see this crazy overpopulated world. By taking multiple real moments and putting them together, the scenes seem a lot fuller.
