Check out the interview we had with Kinobe below:

1. Tell us about you, how long have you been producing music? What inspired you to start?

The first Kinobe album was released in 2000, so nearly 25 years. I was inspired to join a band when I was 12 having just watched Brian May playing guitar in a friends kitchen.

2. The music industry is super competitive these days, was there a moment in your life that you wanted to give up on music? How did you manage to stay focused and achieve what you want?

The music business has always been competitive, and the margins are slim, but I’ve never considered giving up on music because it’s part of me. Listening to music inspires and motivates me every day. It’s like a magical drug.

3. How would you describe your creative processes? Who writes the lyrics to the songs? Are the music and lyrics written in conjunction, or separately?

Every song is different, I never follow a formula. Inspiration can come from anywhere, but the key is perseverance, dedication and hard work.

4. Where did the inspiration come from?

Who knows where inspiration comes from! That question inspired the title of the new album Out Of The Blue because the melody for the first song I wrote for it came to me while I was sitting on a beach watching the waves come in.

5. What’s your favorite track from the upcoming album and what other bands/artists are you listening to right now?

I love all the songs on the new album, but if I had to choose one I’d say it’s ‘Lucky Stars’

And right now I’m listening to the Frank Sinatra album Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back

6. What’s next for you?

I’m working on a couple of interesting projects, and am gathering ideas for an exotica album inspired by Arthur Lyman and Martin Denny.
