The Boy from the Crowd is a London based alternative rock rhythm and blues 2 piece band, formed in early 2013.
“If I was to sum up what we’re doing in a few words I would say Rocking’ boutique tones and voodoo drums.” says percussionist Kevin Flee. “There’s an raw power that is generated when you strip back music to it’s foundations and then rebuild it with electricity and flesh.”
Both guitarist Vinny Piana and Kevin have the experience to know when something is feeling just right. As a solo musician, Vinny has composed music for television documentaries broadcast on BBC, C4, and ITV, and for independent movies including Love Sexy, a Sundance festival selection. Vinny’s songs have also caught the attention of various DJs, producers and artists including Chris McCormack (Ministry of Sound, Gary Newman, samples on Fatboy Slim’s bestselling Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars album) have produced dance remixes of Piana’s tunes. Vinny has toured with Wendy James, Hard Fi and Spiritualized.
Kevin is the brainchild behind the nearly infamous Death Valley Blues Band. He has also toured and recorded with South African legend “Rambling” Jay Bones and voodoo rock group Submachine.
The Boy from the Crowd’s debut release is expected Winter ’14. Look out for them in a venue near you soon.
