The 286 include a string section of electric cellos and violins who play a feature role in the band, both in terms of style and sound. We aim to fuse rock & pop with classical music, creating something entirely original and different in the process.
The 286 were formed by Spencer Hannabuss (guitar/vocals), looking to achieve a long held ambition to break away from the tried and tested indie rock band line up, and create a band that had a less conventional approach to song writing and performing.
Recent gigging highlights have been to represent Greenwich at the recent Olympic torch parade and also closing the show at a special ‘Super Saturday’ Olympic based show on Blackheath Common, south east London.
The 286 recently released their debut EP, ‘A Victory for Battalion 286’. The band are currently in the studio recording more tracks and are hoping to release their next EP in the winter.
