First prosthetic tattoo arm created

jcsheitantenet1

The future of prosthetics is looking bright for tattoo artists. JL Gonzal, a French artist, created the first prosthetic tattoo arm for JC Sheitan Tenet. This arm doubles as a tattoo gun, allowing for the tattoo artist the precision needed for any design. Many are saying that this new invention is a hint at what the future holds for prosthesis of all limbs.

To create the arm, Gonzal used pieces of a typewriter, manometer, and various pipes of Tenet’s existing prosthesis. The use of Tenet’s own prosthesis was to help gain the usability that the tattoo artist would need when creating the tattoos. Tenet is able to adjust the settings on the arm depending on what he needs for the tattoo.

Tenet’s new prosthetic appears to work well in a video that was posted. He seems to have no trouble at all as he is testing out the new arm on someone’s leg tattoo. According to Gonzal’s Facebook post, the video shows his first attempt at using the arm.

People can’t expect to go out and buy this soon, though. While the design is incredible, the arm is just a prototype. The machine uses disposable cartridges and needles in order to keep everything clean and sterile. All of the machines fixations have to be taken off to clean, causing a long process. Currently the arm is not fit for daily use, according to Tenet.

While no one can expect for a machine like this to be available for purchase soon, Gonzal’s creation is a step in the right direction for prosthesis.
