In a year when resilience, innovation, and global impact have never mattered more, 33 London businesses have been crowned with the UK’s highest honour for enterprise — the King’s Awards for Enterprise. Announced on 6 May 2025, these awards celebrate the brilliant minds, bold ambitions, and big-hearted missions shaping the capital’s future.
From socially-minded bakeries in Dalston to tech pioneers making travel accessible for all, this year’s London winners prove once again that when it comes to creativity and hustle, the city’s spirit is unstoppable.
London’s leading lights: a snapshot of success
Spanning across International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity, the 33 Greater London recipients show the diversity and dynamism that continue to make London a global powerhouse.
Standout winners include:
The Dusty Knuckle Bakery
🥖 Dalston’s much-loved bakery earned recognition in the Promoting Opportunity category. Known for its life-changing training and mentorship programmes for socially excluded young people, Dusty Knuckle proves that good bread and social impact go hand-in-hand.
Transreport
📱 Awarded in the Innovation category, this tech company is breaking barriers in accessible travel, supporting disabled and older passengers through user-focused, transformative digital solutions. With over 7 million journeys supported so far, they are literally reshaping the travel experience.
Jellycat
🧸 Recognised for International Trade, this playful British brand has taken its irresistibly quirky soft toys global, now loved in 77 countries. Proof that a little London design magic can spark worldwide joy.
Other exciting London winners include Brompton Bicycle, Brightsun Travel, Social Pantry, Sibylline, and Londonist DMC, highlighting the sheer breadth of excellence — from travel to education, tech to gastronomy.
A celebration of London’s economic and cultural impact
According to Gareth Thomas, Minister for Services, Small Businesses and Exports, London’s award-winners are not only trailblazing success stories but key drivers of national growth.
“Congratulations to the inspiring London businesses recognised this year; from Jellycat’s globally popular toys, to Transreport’s cutting-edge technology and The Dusty Knuckle’s transformational work. Your success is helping boost our economy and inspire communities at home and abroad.”
This year’s King’s Awards for Enterprise also underscore the UK government’s wider Plan for Change, aimed at supercharging economic growth and putting more money in more working people’s pockets. London’s winning businesses are proof positive that creativity, innovation, and inclusion are the engines of real change.
A legacy worth celebrating
Each business will be visited by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants, who will personally present the Awards. Winners are also invited to a special Royal reception later this year — no big deal, just a handshake with the King.
Beyond the formalities, the King’s Award status gives businesses a powerful stamp of credibility and global prestige — opening new doors, forging new connections, and fuelling even bigger ambitions.
Previously known as the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the programme was renamed in 2023 to honour King Charles III’s commitment to continuing this vital tradition. Now in its 59th year, the awards have recognised over 8,000 businesses since their inception in 1965.
Applications for the 2026 King’s Awards for Enterprise open on 6 May 2025, with a new focus on encouraging more entries from under-represented groups and sectors — because innovation knows no postcode, background, or boundary.
