Park Life: Celebrate the UK’s glorious green spaces with Love Parks Week

Love Parks Week, now in its 12th year, is Britain’s biggest celebration of valuable green spaces. Launched by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, Love Parks Week aims to encourage people up and down the country to visit their local parks, and share their favourite moments on social media with the #LoveParks.

Throughout the week, towns and cities across the UK will be holding various events to celebrate their local park. Whether it’s an outdoor theatre or open air concert, trail walks or simply lending a hand to collect litter, Love Parks Week is inviting communities to visit and enjoy their much needed green spots.

To mark the campaign launch, Keep Britain Tidy will be hosting a circus workshop at Leicester Square Gardens. On 12th July, from 11am – 2pm the Gardens will host activities for children of all ages, including a Rodeo Bull, bowling and space hoppers, providing the perfect way for families to enjoy green space in the heart of central London.

Paul Todd, Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award manager said, “We believe that everybody, wherever they live, should have access to a quality outdoor area. We are therefore asking communities across the UK to join forces in their local green spaces throughout Love Parks Week, to show their appreciation and help protect parks for future generations.”
