Web Summit 2019, the world’s largest technology conference according to the Financial Times, has released its official numbers for this year’s event. Officially opening this evening, here’s a summary of who will be participating this week.
The event has sold out for 2019 with a record number of attendees.
On Friday November 1, Web Summit announced that it had sold out of tickets for its 2019 edition. The event will be welcoming 70,469 attendees from 163 countries, with a large number of visitors coming from the UK, Germany, Brazil, and the United States just to name a few.
Web Summit’s gender ratio has hit a record high across all of their events around the world.
This year has also outdone all Web Summit events in terms of gender ratio, with this year’s participants being 46.3% female. This surpasses last year’s event where the figure was at 44.5%, and also this year’s North American conference Collision in Toronto, where the event was 45.7% female.
Over 1,200 speakers and 2,500 media will be present this year.
To be exact, 1,206 speakers will be talking across the 22 stages this year. Many will be interviewed on stage by a handful of the 2,526 journalists attending the conference.
The exhibition floor will host over 200 partners and 2,000 startups, with the chance to connect to over 1,200 investors.
