There is nothing deeper than a musical timbre so free and comforting.
You are a versatile singer who loves solo projects and collaborating with other artists, what are the experiences that have touched you most?
To be able to make music and work with so many different people is a blessing on its own. That actually touches me. And to see many friendly faces in the crowd makes me happy. I once sang for HH the Dalai Lama. He sat on the stage, very close to us. I looked in his eyes while singing. That is something I will never forget.
What is important for happiness?
Love, respect, positivity and communication. This is, in my opinion, the perfect cocktail for happiness. In everything, in all layers, with all people. We all have the same basic needs, only sometimes we forget what is truly important to survive. Unfortunately money and any form of power often have the upper hand in our clouded spirits. I believe music and art, can bring us closer to our essential needs. They are the gateway to them. That’s why I love making music and listening to it so much.
To what and to who do you inspire yourself?
Really everyday life. The things I do. My family, the people I meet, the places I go to. Everything around me is fuel for a new song or a lyric.
Have all your dreams become reality?
Yes for sure! I have a wonderful husband and son and I’m in music. I sing every day. I meet great people and I see a lot of the world. I love my life.
What are your fans like and what relationship do you have with them?
The people that follow me and my music are first and foremost music lovers. They are always curious for a new album and will check out what I do live as well. As an artist blessed with a long career, you have periods in which you are very successful and sometimes a bit less. I love how people always support me and my music, no matter what. It makes me want to work harder and become better at what I do every day.
Is it better playing music in the studio or on stage?
I love being on stage! For me that is the best thing. I also love creating and recording, but being together in a room with a crowd, singing and sharing, that is the ultimate thing for me.
