If a pub has a ping pong table, we usually feel at home, which is apt considering The Book Club was formerly known as home. The centre piece of this venue’s décor is the rather conspicuous oval in the wall, simple yet quaint enough to be aesthetically pleasing.
The cocktail menu is interesting in itself purely through the choices of some of the names. “Don’t go to Dalston” and the “Shoreditch twat” easily commit themselves to memory. On a plus side, their event schedules are very diverse and appealing with offerings of live poetry reading, philosophical debating and a good dash of music to round things off.
