Billie Jean On Classical Piano

Bildschirmfoto 2013-05-08 um 11.50.09Have you ever heard Michael Jackson on the ivory of a Steinway and Sons? It’s probably your first time being faced with this question, but it’s one that should definitely be asked.
Classical pianist AyseDeniz Gockcin has lent her talent to adapting the Jackson hit into an excellent stylised interpretation. One thing is for sure: it’ll make you regret ignoring your parents’ demands to take music lessons as a child.
Bildschirmfoto 2013-05-08 um 11.51.30Fortunately Gokcin studied hard and as a result we can listen to her stunning performances today. Inspired by the 30th anniversary of the original release, Gokcin felt compelled to rework Billy Jean in the way she knows best. The talented Turkish pianist also released a video to accompany the track, pulling tricks with the piano that seem akin to the tricks she plays with the Jackson mega-hit. The Hendrix of piano? We couldn’t say – how one plays the piano with their teeth will remain a mystery for now – but if anyone’s on their way, it’s AyseDeniz Gokcin.
