Jealous Summer Show Crashes Into Shoreditch with Big Artists, Free Stuff & Church Vibes

From Shrigley to Shonibare, it’s the wildest art weekender East London’s seen in years

Move over polite gallery openings and whispery art fairs — the Jealous Summer Show is crashing into Shoreditch this June with irreverence, energy, and a line-up so stacked it feels like Glastonbury for print lovers. Taking over the stunning St Michael’s Church on Leonard Street (yes, a church), this two-day art takeover runs 14–15 June, from 12pm to 6pm, and promises limited editions, exclusive releases, free stuff, and a healthy splash of chaos.

Did we mention there’s also a bar?

Shoreditch’s Newest Art Riot: Expect Big Names and Bigger Personalities

Let’s talk talent. The Jealous Summer Show is throwing together some of the most distinctive, rebellious, and flat-out brilliant names in British contemporary art. Think David Shrigley, Jake Chapman, Jamie Hewlett, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Harry Hill, Miss Bugs, Antony Micallef, Magda Archer, and Noel Fielding, just for starters. Honestly, it’s like the most unhinged dinner party ever curated.

From razor-sharp humour to powerful political commentary, you’ll find it here — in the form of brand new print editions, original artworks, and exclusive launches. And it’s all happening under the Gothic arches of a Grade I-listed church, less than 10 minutes from Old Street Station.

Print Parties, Quick Portraits, and Prizes (You May or May Not Want)

Let’s be real — this isn’t your average white cube affair. The Jealous Summer Show brings all the chaos of a festival, but with screenprints instead of glitter cannons. You can:

  • Watch live printing in action
  • Sit for a legendary “Quick Shit Portrait” by Dave Buonaguidi
  • Spin the Wheel of Fortune (prizes = brilliant stuff or just stuff Jealous wants to offload, depending on your luck)
  • Drink. Obviously. There’s a bar. Did we not mention the bar?

And yes, it’s all for a good cause — proceeds from the wheel go to The Big Issue, and the whole event is raising for Tottenham and Hornsey food banks.

The Help Portfolio: Rare Prints for a Rare Cause

For the first time ever, art fans can buy individual signed prints from The Help Portfolio — a 2020 charity edition that featured heavyweights like Michael Craig-Martin, Idris Khan, and Chris Levine, co-published with Cristea Roberts Gallery. Each of the 16 prints supports a different charity, from Shelter to Médecins Sans Frontières UK and Teenage Cancer Trust.

It’s a rare chance to grab highly collectable work and give back.

Entry That Gives Back

Tickets are £10 — or, in the most wholesome Shoreditch twist ever, completely free with a food donation. Bring something non-perishable and you’ll get in, support a local food bank, and feel slightly better about dropping your last paycheck on art.

Not Your Average Shoreditch Weekend

This isn’t just an art show. It’s a love letter to creativity, mischief, and community — exactly the kind of thing that keeps Shoreditch’s cultural soul alive. Whether you’re a seasoned collector, a curious browser, or just here for the vibes and the bar, the Jealous Summer Show 2025 is unmissable.

Get weird. Get inspired. Get your hands on some prints before they vanish into someone else’s tote bag.
