We often look to our reflections to see ourselves. Without reflective things like mirrors, we would never know what our faces look like in real time. Cameras can give us almost the same result. Spoons show us a warped reflection of ourselves.
In his series of reflective spoons, illustrator Andrea Costantini shows us reflections of several characters. From their reflection and the objects behind the spoon we can piece together their stories. Born in Italy and now living in Washington D.C., Costantini uses photography and illustration together to create this cool series. He creates an environment for his subjects.
A pirate, a boxer, and even Santa is included among his characters. With warped portraits, he tells a story in texture and color.
