Maxwell Rushton uses his own blood to create art

In today’s contemporary art world, many artists push social boundaries to prove a point, shock their audiences and create conversations.

Artist Maxwell Rushton uses his art to do just that. On 17th March he began his residency at Exchange, a hub for new creatives to develop their careers. As a part of this residency, he used his own blood for the creation of a Rorschach Test during a live performance titled Inside Out. He will continue to add to his piece until 17th April this spring.

Rushton combines psychoanalysis and human blood to force his audience to confront their subconscious. He believes we are as primal as the blood that runs through our veins.
