Artist Kimberly Witham turns roadkill into still lifes

Never thought that roadkill could be beautiful?

Artist Kimberly Witham proves this thought wrong with her eerily elegant still life images of taxidermied animals. All the animals used in her pieces were found on the side of the road. Wong places the creatures’ bodies in vases and on colorfully decorated ceramics, most likely intended for flowers. By doing so, she speaks to the beauty of animals and the importance of their presence. She makes her audience question the impact of humans on the natural world and urges us to find a fascination out of something that is normally grotesque.
