Ghostly Double Exposure by Paul Apal’kin

Have you ever had an out of body experience? Have you ever felt like you don’t belong in your own skin? Photographer Paul Apal’kin shows just what that would look like with a clever use of double exposure.

With a ghostly and ephemeral feel, the conceptual photographs grasp at feelings. Blurred in black and white, Apal’kin reveals conflicted emotions beneath the surface. The female models in his photos have graceful forms. Some of the pictures look as if the soul is trying to escape the body, going one way as the body goes another.

Rarely using color, Apal’kin uses double exposure and black and white in a beautiful combination of conceptual photography.
