The original Twinings flagship store has been located at 216 Strand in London since 1706. It is a 300-year-old tea shop with a vast variety of teas, from unique blends to simple everyday teas.
According to the Twinings website, they believe they are the oldest company, with trading done continuously on the same sight with the same family. Thomas Twining initially bought Tom’s Coffee House in 1706. He bought the coffee house, knowing the prime location between Westminster and the City of London.
The building was renovated fairly recently. Twinings flagship store now has a new premium loose-leaf sampling bar where visitors can try recognizable or discover new flavors of Twinings tea. The tea bar allows visitors to sample various products while talking with Twinings Brand Ambassadors.
Visitors can browse the Twinings tea collection, and the store provides unique experiences such as a classic tea masterclass, a Twining’s family history masterclass, a Bespoke blending masterclass, and an herbal masterclass. These masterclasses create an experience perfect for a tea aficionado or history buffs.
