Internationally recognised Finnish visual artist, holistic interior architect & musician EMMI IIDA released her single, ‘Blooming’ on the 22nd of September 2023 via EFG Records Oy. The multi-faceted artist, who has hosted solo art exhibitions from Barcelona to Los Angeles, now seeks to translate her artistic prowess into her music, with ‘Blooming’ set as her first major official release.
Born in Hollola, Finland, Emmi Granlund began playing the piano at the age of 5. She spent her early school years in a musical elementary school, singing in a choir and in an acapella band, performing her first solo in front of a crowd at the age of 9. ”My dad used to play guitar and sing for us, for me and my five little brothers when we were kids.” says EMMI IIDA. This early exposure to music had her singing in front of the TV and making her own songs constantly, even when she was supposed to be asleep in her bed.
‘Blooming’ is a beautifully ambient track with an amazing atmosphere. Kicking off with deep and lush meditative chords and an interesting rhythm, EMMI IIDA offers us spoken word vocals, guiding us on a peaceful journey, imparting snippets of wisdom upon the listener’s ear. We’re then introduced to EMMI IIDA’s angelic voice, as she sings about following one’s own inner vision and intuition, and the benefits it can have in your life.
