Paxti Andres Brings His Playful Blend Of Latin American & European Flavours To Oranj, Shoreditch

Oranj, one of London’s top ten restaurants chosen by RESY, is delighted to announce its first chef residency of 2024: Paxti Andres. The Venezuela-born chef’s bold, unconventional style blends Latin American flavours and European techniques to create unique and delicious dishes.

Having begun his career at the World’s 50 Best perennial, Boragó, in Chile, Andres went on to work at the celebrated Mokonuts in Paris and London’s acclaimed Black Axe Mangal. In 2020, Andres brought Burrito Machete,  a street food business serving up his punchy flavours wrapped up in homemade flour tortillas, to London which quickly gained cult status.

Diners can expect dishes including Steamed Clams with Plantain Beurre Blanc; Smoked Ox Cheek, Funche and Shrimp Sambal alongside Crab Patacon with Guava Alioli. For something sweet, Rum-BaBa-meets-Venezuelan-Bienmesabe made with Coconut and Condensed Milk Crème Patissière.

Andres will be joined by his friend and collaborator Taylor Peddle cooking as his sous chef at Oranj.
