Tell us about you, how long have you been producing music? What inspired you to start?
I started studying music production in a DAW called Reason many years ago, but only fully dove into Tech House and Techno after taking some more courses in the Uk and Ibiza starting in 2018.
The music industry is super competitive these days, was there a moment in your life that you wanted to give up on music? How did you manage to stay focused and achieve what you want?
I never want to give up on music. It’s been something that’s been a big part of my life from as early as I can remember. Sometimes I do feel overwhelmed with the digital world while making sets, beats or downloading and searching for music. When that happens I usually play piano, sing, write, mix with vinyl, or expose myself to different genres.
How would you describe your creative processes? Who writes the lyrics to the songs? Are the music and lyrics written in conjunction, or separately?
Every song is different. Sometimes it starts with drums and builds from there. If I’m using a lot of samples I have a set pattern I tend to follow. Other times it starts with a melody idea or lyrical concept. I’m always writing down ideas or saving melodies.
Where did the inspiration come from?
I wanted to make a track that was heavy hitting and still up-lifting. With impactful chords and lyrics. I wanted the intensity of the track to be a bit of a juxtaposition to the positive lyrics and vocal but still complement it. Ultimately the song is about feeling alive, as day slips into night. Not knowing what’s coming but positive it’s gonna be good.
What’s your favourite track from the upcoming album and what other bands/artists are you listening to right now?
I don’t have a favourite of the remixes associated with “Wild Electric”. I feel so honoured to have had such iconic artists that I truly admire remix these upcoming releases. Lately I’ve been listening and playing a lot of Layton Giordani, Hi-Lo, Deborah De Luca, Adam Beyer and Charlotte de Witte.
What’s next for you?
I’ve got a busy summer with the Wild Electric Tour and festival/club gigs around the UK as well as the remixes which I’m so excited for. This summer I’ll be playing in Europe; Ibiza, Portugal, Bulgaria. I have an upcoming release on a South American label and I’m heading to play over there in the fall which is also really cool.
