Lower budget
citizenM London Shoreditch, 6 Holywell Lane, EC2A 3ET. Small rooms with extra-large beds and food served around the clock, a few minutes from Shoreditch High Street station.
Point A Shoreditch. Point A’s compact rooms suit a short stay; the chain lists a Shoreditch hotel alongside its Liverpool Street site.
Mid-range
The Hoxton, Shoreditch, 81 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3HU. The first Hoxton hotel, with a busy lobby that works as a café and meeting space. Free cancellation until 2pm the day before arrival, according to the hotel.
Hart Shoreditch, a short walk from Boxpark and Old Spitalfields Market.
Higher budget
Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch, 335 to 337 Old Street, EC1V 9LL. A five-star hotel in the Grade II listed former Old Street Magistrates’ Court, opposite Shoreditch Town Hall. It has 86 rooms and 42 suites. The Jailhouse Bar uses five of the original holding cells, where the hotel says Ronnie and Reggie Kray were once held, and the Upper 5th roof terrace opens seasonally. Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch, 10 to 50 Willow Street, EC2A 4BH. The Nobu restaurant group’s hotel, with its own restaurant and spa.
Boundary, Redchurch Street. A small hotel with a brasserie and a rooftop bar, run by the same team.
Where to stay
Near Old Street (Courthouse, Nobu, The Hoxton) suits work trips and the Northern line. Near Shoreditch High Street (citizenM, Hart, Boundary) puts Brick Lane, Redchurch Street and Spitalfields within ten minutes’ walk, but expect street noise on Friday and Saturday nights.
