The Artists’ Fair Returns to Somerset House Studios – A Radical Art Weekender You Can Actually Afford

7–8 June 2025 | Somerset House, New Wing | Free / Pay What You Can

Londoners, mark your calendars: the Artists’ Fair 2025 is back at Somerset House Studios for another unforgettable weekend of art, conversation, creativity—and yes, even speed dating for the creatively inclined. Taking place on Saturday 7 June (12–7pm) and Sunday 8 June (12–5:30pm), this isn’t your average art fair. This is where emerging brilliance meets accessible, real-world artistry in one of London’s most iconic spaces.

Expect fresh ideas, radical resistance, child-led critiques, and art you can actually afford to take home.

A Different Kind of Art Fair

Forget white walls and overpriced prosecco. At the Somerset House Artists’ Fair, the power lies with the artists. The 20 artists hosting market stalls will keep 100% of their profits, and they’re even paid a fee for their time—because fair should actually mean fair.

Expect to browse and buy everything from affordable prints and publications to unique wearable art and original works. Much of it will be made on-site, offering the kind of intimacy and creative transparency most galleries can only dream of. Want to ask the artist about their process? Go ahead—they’re right there.

Talks, T-Shirts, and Radical Togetherness

This year’s Fair also sees the return of the Studios-produced zine, exclusive Everpress t-shirt collabs with exhibiting artists (available to order online and on-site), and a speed dating event for creatives—whether you’re looking for a mentor, co-conspirator, studio soulmate or just a fellow art-lover who won’t ghost after one zine-making workshop.

Don’t miss the Grounding Practice sessions, including:

  • Art Aches with John Costi: a brutally honest talk about the physical and emotional toll of creative work
  • A Somerset House tour with Onyeka Igwe, uncovering hidden stories behind the art and architecture

Families Welcome: The Spaghetti Club Crit

For the first time ever, families can get in on the action thanks to Spaghetti Club, who bring a child-led crit session with works by Jasleen Kaur, Jenkin Van Zyl, Hannah Perry and more. Expect colourful honesty, finger-pointing, and unfiltered commentary—because let’s face it, kids make the best critics.

Hear from the Artists Changing the Game

A series of panel discussions and workshops will feature Somerset House Studios alumni including:

  • Laura Grace Ford
  • Jamila Johnson-Small
  • Harun Morrison
  • Ilona Sagar
  • Leila Dear

Topics will range from resistance and collaboration to radical ways of living, all rooted in real-world practice and designed to help artists, activists and communities alike forge more sustainable creative futures.

A Weekend That Actually Gives Back

In a city where rising rents threaten creativity at every turn, Somerset House Studios offers something increasingly rare—room to breathe, experiment, and create without compromise. The Artists’ Fair isn’t just a chance to buy art; it’s a show of solidarity with the people shaping London’s cultural pulse.

You’ll meet makers who challenge, charm, and surprise—whether it’s a Turner Prize nominee or an emerging talent you’ll be bragging about discovering first.

So whether you’re on the hunt for a one-off print, hoping to meet likeminded creatives, or simply craving a weekend that feeds your imagination instead of draining your wallet—The Artists’ Fair 2025 has you covered. Come curious. Leave inspired. Maybe even smitten.
