London College of Fashion is rolling out the LED screen for a brand-new creative spectacular that puts fashion film centre stage.
Get ready to sit front row for a runway of reels. From 3–5 June 2025, London College of Fashion (UAL) presents the inaugural UAL Future Fashion Film Festival – a three-day free public event spotlighting cutting-edge work from emerging filmmakers and designers at the college’s futuristic new home in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
It’s not just a festival. It’s a cinematic love letter to the power of fashion, film, and fierce storytelling.
The Fashion Film Festival London Deserves
Move over red carpets—this one’s LED. Hosted inside a 350-seat lecture theatre with an 8-metre screen and state-of-the-art tech, the festival is serving serious visual impact. 46 shortlisted films, curated from over 300 submissions, will screen across six categories, including Fashion Animation, Documentary, Performance, and Activism.
And it’s not just about the visuals. There’s a whole programme of industry workshops, talks, and hands-on events that make this a must-attend for anyone in (or obsessed with) fashion, film, or culture. Think eco-glamour, Kubrick’s legacy, and AI-driven cinema, all under one glittering roof.
Highlights Not to Miss
- Stanley Kubrick Archive sessions: Get up close with iconic costume pieces from 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining.

Star-Powered Jury with Serious Style
This is not your average student showcase. Judging this year’s awards are some of the sharpest minds across fashion, film, and visual art:
- Frederick Heyman, visual wizard behind Beyoncé’s 3D world
- Joy Shin, Art Director at Burberry
- Brendan Cormier, Chief Curator at V&A East
- Kerry Murphy, CEO of digital fashion house The Fabricant
- Gavin Humphries, Director at NOWNESS
- Rob Jones, Artistic Director at Sadler’s Wells
It’s a lineup that says, yes, UAL’s Future Fashion Film Festival is very much a thing.
Fashion Film That Means Something
The festival’s themes aren’t just trend-driven—they’re soul-deep. This is fashion film that questions identity, imagines better worlds, and platforms unheard voices. It champions fashion’s role in social justice, sustainability, and storytelling.
Whether it’s films made with AI, movement-driven narrative shorts, or experimental animations that blur the boundary between garment and gesture, there’s one constant: fashion film is evolving—and UAL is leading the charge.
Shoreditch Vibes, Olympic Scale
While Shoreditch remains the cultural launchpad for London’s boldest fashion and visual creatives, this event at East Bank brings the next wave into the limelight. The London College of Fashion’s new campus has become a powerhouse for education, expression, and public engagement—this festival cements it.
So if you’re a creative, a culture vulture, or someone who just loves a good moodboard moment, this is one event worth crossing the river for. Come for the film. Stay for the future.
