Smokestak, the barbecue restaurant on Sclater Street, and Manteca, the Italian restaurant on Curtain Road, are throwing a street party at Protein Studios in Shoreditch on Saturday 7 November 2026.
The XV Blok Party marks ten years of Smokestak and five years of Manteca, 15 years between them. It runs from 6pm to 2am at 31 New Inn Yard, which sits roughly halfway between the two restaurants. Tickets cost £15 and include a welcome cocktail. All proceeds go to Philoxenia, the in-house charity of the restaurants’ parent group DCCO, which is supporting grassroots charities in Gaza.
What is on the menu
Smokestak began as a trader at Street Feast before it opened on Sclater Street, and it is going back to its street food menu for the night. Two wood-fired smokers will be set up outside the venue.
- Smokestak: 12-hour brisket buns, charred pork belly ribs, pulled pork buns and coal-roasted aubergine
- Manteca: pig skin ragù with crackling, wood-oven flatbreads with steamed clams and chilli or ‘nduja and honey, and capocollo sandwiches with pickled peppers and Fontina
- Della Dogs: a roaming stand selling mortadella hot dogs topped with cacio e pepe or tonnato
- Drinks: a central bar with a Green Chilli Frozen Margarita, Manteca Negronis, Bajan Rum Punch and a Burnt Peach Old Fashioned
The welcome drink on arrival is a Manteca Spritz or a Smokestak Punch. There will also be DJs, oyster shuckers, a popcorn machine, soft serve and a photo booth, according to The Upcoming.
What the founders said
David Carter, who founded Smokestak and co-founded Manteca, said: “November 2026 marks the joint ten years of Smokestak and five years of Manteca. 15 cumulative years of stoking fires and rolling pasta.” He said the night would bring back “the vibrance and glory of the OG Dalston Yard / Street Feast days, just this time at Protein Studios.”
Chris Leach, chef and co-founder of Manteca, said: “Five years of cooking on Curtain Road, done properly with our mates at Smokestak: fire, food, drinks and music.”
