Shoreditch has never played it safe. So when Design London Shoreditch drops three new exhibitions into the neighbourhood’s beating creative heart, it’s not just another event — it’s a design power move. As part of London Design Festival 2025, this brand-new showcase lands with serious force from 16–18 September, transforming Protein Studios, Kachette, and Shoreditch Town Hall into a bold design triangle filled with provocative ideas, stunning interiors, and just the right dose of artistic chaos.

Three Design Zones. One Iconic Neighbourhood.
Design London Shoreditch isn’t about playing favourites. Instead, it splits its energy across three curated spaces, each delivering a unique lens on the city’s design DNA:
Design at Work – Protein Studios, EC2A 3EY
Workplace innovation gets the spotlight here. Featuring global leaders and next-gen disruptors, this exhibition shows how thoughtful design can enhance productivity without making your office look like a WeWork clone. Expect clever acoustic pods, ergonomic furniture, and sustainable materials that make nine-to-five feel less soul-sucking.

Design Culture – Kachette, EC1V 9LP
Where heritage meets experimental. Featuring emerging designers, RCA grads, and powerful collaborations like the British Council’s Ancient Futures and Moleskine’s creative workshops, this space dives deep into the ways culture, ancestry, and design intersect. Think speculative design, eco-conscious objects, and installations that make you question your life choices (in a good way).
House of ICON – Shoreditch Town Hall, EC1V 9LT
Go big or go home. House of ICON transforms the historic Shoreditch Town Hall into a maximalist interior dreamscape. With brands like Thonet, BAUX, and Dare Studio, and installations from 2LG Studio, Lois O’Hara, and ISOLA Collective, this is where luxury, sustainability, and storytelling fuse under one grand, architectural roof.
Participating Brands Push the Boundaries
Let’s talk names. Berlin Acoustics, sixteen3, LaErre, Isomi, Thonet, and JDD Furniture are just a few of the industry disruptors bringing their latest work to Shoreditch. From sustainable soundproof booths to modular seating systems made for modern life, these exhibitors are rethinking how we live, work, and socialise.
At Design at Work, Isomi’s award-winning Knit One chair leads the eco-revolution. Meanwhile, over at House of ICON, BAUX’s Swedish acoustic innovations and LaErre’s bespoke Italian trunks serve serious looks — and function.

Head-Turning Installations You Won’t Want to Miss
This isn’t a sit-back-and-sip prosecco kind of design show. It’s immersive, messy, and weird — in the best way possible.
2LG Studio’s “You Can Sit With Us” creates a salon-style queer space for connection, tarot readings, and inclusive design dialogue.
Ben Cullen Williams x Google DeepMind present “Self Portrait,” a generative AI installation asking whether machines can make art with soul.
British Council’s Ancient Futures investigates ancestral design and ecological innovation in a time of climate chaos.
Moleskine flips the page — literally — with workshops that make you remember what your handwriting actually looks like.
And yes, there’s also a bar installation by colour wizard Lois O’Hara. Expect curved lines, bold hues, and a cocktail menu worth sketching in your notebook.
Design Talks: The Conversation Starts Here
Journalist and design expert Roddy Clarke curates this year’s talks programme, promising fresh voices, challenging debates, and a few curveballs. Taking place across venues, the sessions will cover sustainability, tech, identity, and what design needs to do next.
And if you’re tired of the same panels saying the same things — this line-up might finally surprise you.
A Shoreditch-First Approach to London Design
For years, Shoreditch has set the tone for London’s creative undercurrent. Now, with Design London Shoreditch, the area steps fully into the design spotlight. These exhibitions aren’t just side-shows to west London’s legacy institutions — they’re centre stage.
Marlon Cera-Marle, Director at Media 10, puts it plainly:
“Shoreditch is one of London’s trendiest neighbourhoods… With our experience in launching successful B2B design events, we’re excited to contribute to the area’s cultural offering during London Design Festival.”
Ben Evans CBE, Director of London Design Festival, agrees:
“Design London Shoreditch is a bold and exciting addition… It underscores London’s role as a global leader in design.”
Come For the Design, Stay For the Energy
Whether you’re a materials nerd, an interiors maximalist, or just in it for the cocktails and good lighting, Design London Shoreditch delivers a full-spectrum experience. And since it’s part of the Shoreditch Design Triangle, you’ll also find over 40 showrooms, off-programme events, and parties happening in the area.

If you’ve ever doubted Shoreditch’s role in shaping the future of London design — this is your cue. Design London Shoreditch arrives not as a guest but as a permanent fixture in the capital’s creative calendar. It’s time to walk the triangle, soak in the ideas, and maybe — just maybe — sit on a golden chair designed by an algorithm.
See you in September.
