G: Tell us about your band? How long have you guys been performing together? What did inspire you to start? What was the inspiration behind your name?

NATALIA: Our band is a troupe of humans attempting to realise their dream of making people dance and happy while simultaneously hoping to achieve the perfect song and be able to live off our music. This madness started technically 5 years ago but as the band stands with the people in it as a real concept only 3. Sam had the inspiration for the name after 5 days on no sleep, busking for money and booze Monday morning of secret garden party. He was sporting various shades of Fuck you Neon Orange at the time.

G: What was your most successful or most enjoyed gig so far?

NATALIA: Most Successful: in many ways was the after-party of the final Harry Potter film premiere. It was fantastic that I was able to say goodbye musically to so many people I had worked with for years.

Most Enjoyed: A Favela in Brazil, paid in cacheca, drowning in sweat and appreciation.

G:  How would you describe your typical fan?

NATALIA: The majority are young women but overall, they are generally generous warm insane dancers that don’t want to stop dancing.

G: Who writes the lyrics to the songs? Are the music and lyrics written in conjunction, or separately? How would you describe your creative processes?

NATALIA: Adam (guitar), Sam (violin) and I (twat that sings hopefully in tune with and accordion) get together and try and birth a song. It always starts with a riff or a chorus or even a concept (Tread softly is about the admiral altruistic suicide of the explorer Lawrence Oates). We make dinner, drink wine and argue immensely till something sticks that we can all agree on and take that to the rhythm and horn and hope they can sex it up.

G: What are your plans for the future?

NATALIA: To succeed in what we do: travel the world, make people forget their immortality by dancing and getting laid. And be able to pay the mortgage.

G: Who/what are your favorite Artists/Businesses in the area?

NATALIA: Gentle Mystics and Nimmo and the Gauntlets are amazing bands and good friends. Anything with a good vibe, good music and preferably meat.

G: What are your favorite places in Shoreditch?

NATALIA: GO TO PASSING CLOUDS AND LEARN SWING DANCING. The rest is just details. x
