Hackney’s Broadway Market is launching a 12-week trail of a brand new food market. The new venture will be in addition to the popular Saturday market with up to 20 traders serving delicious food and drink from around the world.
A 6-week trial of the Friday market began on 2 October between 2-8pm and will be followed by a 6-week trial of a Sunday market beginning in November. The new trading day will then be decided based on customer, trader and local resident feedback via an online survey.
After introducing covid-secure measures to tackle the pandemic, Broadway Market reopened in August with the exception of hot food traders. The new market dedicated to hot food will allow those traders to get back to business as well as providing an opportunity to expand should the Saturday market return to normal.
