Artist Will Kurtz turn newspapers into people

Newspapers are objects of our everyday lives. They are constantly being produced and read by millions. Artist Will Kurtz creates life-size figures of people and animals made out of newspapers to show the time limitations of life and how it is not-everlasting. Each figure forms a collage of words and advertising that reflects the individual’s personality or situation. He chose to depict people that are often marginalized from society and create uncommon characters that are comic in nature. Kurtz hopes to form an empathetic quality to his work in order to capture the similar hardships that we as human beings experience.
