Brick Lane’s Cafe 1001 announces its Christmas gift for London

From this weekend onwards there’ll be free festive films, free mulled wine with every booking and Lagom, the brand new wood-fired food trader coming in.

This December Cafe 1001 have dialled down the action to give everyone a bit of a rest bite from the constant parties and pub invites. Launching this weekend, the team have come up with some free treats to give back to London to get people together without the need for shouting. To start, every Saturday and Sunday between 12pm and 4pm there will be a free film showing of the festive variety. Think all the classics including Love Actually, Home Alone, Elf and more. Beyond this, all those that book to eat, drink or watch films in the space will receive a free spiced mulled wine for their entire group. The food will be switching over this weekend with one of East London’s favorites. Lagom. A wood fired, meaty haven that includes all sorts of slow cooked meats and burgers opening on Thursday 9th December. As we move further into December, Cafe 1001 will be here to help people slow down and heat up on these cold winter days.

Just before the pandemic hit, Elliot Cunningham’s Lagom pop-up was making waves within East London. Major food critics were queuing at the door to sample some of the slow cooked meaty goodness. Now he takes over the outdoor BBQ area of Cafe 1001. Those looking for some quality bites need not look any further with the menu engineered on quick easy slow cooked bites that have hours if not days put into every morsel. The menu has yet to be finished but expect some christmassy bits on there alongside the meaty staples in a bun.

Customers will also be able to experience authentic Neapolitan style wood fired goodness from London’s most salacious new pizza joint Sleazy Pizza, The team at Sleazy will be getting festive with their XXXmas special ‘White Christmas’ which features turkey breast, diced pancetta and brie covered in crispy sage on a white base with naughty and nice cranberry and gravy dips available!

Moving forward every Saturday and Sunday will be showing free Christmas films between 12pm and 4pm until the end of December, although the full schedule isn’t announced yet we can all work out the classics. Served alongside the free mulled wine they’ll be a winter warmers menu of spiced latte’s and Hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Cafe 1001 are looking to give people a place to go and slow down for the afternoon, unwind after a not-so-hard day of Christmas shopping and relax over a warm liquid with a warmer film. Launching this weekend, it will be a first come first serve affair open to families and friends alike.
