Review of Park Row, London’s Batman inspired restaurant

A lone host idles in a lavishly-appointed study. A portrait of the Wayne family watches over you as you give the host your name. With a simple flick of his wrist, dramatic music swells as a bookshelf yawns open to reveal a mysterious staircase. You descend into the gloom and London becomes a distant memory as you cross the glowing threshold into the heart of Gotham City.

Located in the heart of Soho, Park Row is London’s first DC Comics inspired luxury restaurant. Named after the infamous alleyway that saw the murder of Martha and Thomas Wayne, Park Row’s glamorous dining experience brings to life the captivating world of the Caped Crusader with entrancing live music, mesmorizing décor, and divine food.

Park Row’s gourmet menu offers a culinary experience meticulously crafted to transport your taste buds as you recline in one of Park Row’s various venues, each designed to pay homage to a particular Gotham resident.

Upon arrival, enjoy a cocktail at Oswald Cobblepot’s Iceberg Lounge under the watchful eyes of the chilling penguin centrepiece. The refreshing Matches cocktail with Bacardi Carta Blanca rum and pineapple soda will remind you of the smooth allure of the criminal underworld, while the dastardly Architect with Patron Silver, Campari and orange bitters will sweep you off your feet.

In Pennyworth’s restaurant and bar, experience the comfort and class inspired by the Wayne family’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth. With classic cocktails and Irish whiskey, get a taste of Gotham’s old-money wealth and history while enjoying starters like the delectable Potato Croquettes or Bruce Wayne’s favourite, the Mulligatawny Soup

The life of a Gotham criminal has its perks, and no venue proves that more than the Rogues Gallery. In sumptuous chairs, surrounded by history’s most famous stolen pieces of art, luxuriate in the domain of the infamous jewel thief Selina Kyle. Main courses range from Gotham’s specialty seafood dishes like The Joker Fish to delicious ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce.

Hint: Ask about The Blue Boy. I promise it’s the cat’s meow.

To finish off the evening, the desert menu has every ounce of flair as the rest of Park Row. From Riddle Me This, a hazelnut sablé with apple-jack ice cream, to the Ruins of Gotham, a chocolate and calamansi layered cake that perfectly mixes the richness of chocolate with the tanginess of fruit, each dessert launches your meal to the next level. For less traditional options, try the edible balloons or nitro popcorn good enough to make Mr. Freeze.

For those looking for an even more immersive experience, Park Row offers The Monarch Theatre show. This 10-course meal aims to go above and beyond a simple night out with floor-to-ceiling screens and 360-degree projection mapping.
