Tell us about you, how long have you been making music? What inspired you to start?
Hey, I’m Thaylo, a French DJ/Producer making electronic music (Progressive, Deep House Melodic).
I’m making music since 8 years now, but I started professionally 4 years ago.
One day, I stumbled upon DJ sets on YouTube, and watching those performances sparked something in me. I realized that creating music, not just listening to it, could be my way of expressing myself. It wasn’t just about playing someone else’s tracks—it was about creating something that resonated with people the same way the artists I liked resonated with me. That moment, watching those DJs perform, solidified my decision to pursue music production. It felt like a natural step for me, a way to make my mark on the world in a way that felt authentic and true to who I am.
The music industry is super competitive these days, was there a moment in your life when you wanted to give up on music? How did you manage to stay focused and achieve what you want?
It’s true that the music industry is very competitive these days, but that’s not why I make music. For me, it all started as a way to express myself and share my emotions, visions, and desires with the people who listen to me. I try to convey something that truly reflects who I am.
Sure, there were moments when I felt discouraged, but I never thought about giving up. I’ve never had a real reason to stop, because my love for music goes far beyond the industry or the market.
What helped me stay focused was learning to tune out the noise around me and instead focus on what I genuinely want to express, and on the kind of music I truly love.
How would you describe your creative processes? Are the music and lyrics written in conjunction, or separately? Since I started my journey, my creative process has become much more personal and intentional. I’ve really taken the time to shape my sound and define the way I want my music to feel—building my own world, sonically and emotionally. The piano has been a huge part of that evolution. I often just sit down at the piano and let myself explore, trying out ideas and creating different moods. Sometimes, when I’m listening to music and I hear a vibe or an atmosphere that resonates with me, I’ll go straight to my computer or the piano and try to create something that gives me a similar feeling. It’s like chasing a certain emotion or energy and translating it into my own language.
Where did the inspiration come from?
The inspiration come from different things for me, sometimes a feeling, a story, sometimes I’m listening a music and I’m taken on the energy so I go on the piano and try some melodies, ambiances to get something as deep as I heard.
In general, it’s a matter of feeling.
What’s next for you?
So much is coming this year! I have a lot of new songs coming out during the next month such as a 4-track EP on Nora en Pure‘s label Purified, and 2 EP coming with PLAYY.
About Live performances, I’m proud to announce that I will ensure the first act for the recently well-known RIVO in Dublin on June 14th. “
