The Thirsty Farrier, a mobile cocktail bar company, is opening a Christmas food and cocktail garden in Bishops Square, Spitalfields, from 12 November to 24 December. Entry is free and no tickets are needed.
The garden will be open every day from 11am to 9pm, the company said. It is its first festive garden.
A picket-fenced cocktail garden will be set around the company’s mint-green bar, with six independent London food traders around it. The traders have not yet been named. The Thirsty Farrier said each kitchen would make one tasting dish for the garden, paired with a drink from the bar, so visitors can build what it calls a Christmas market tasting menu. The traders’ full menus will also be on sale.
Drinks will include mulled cocktails, Christmas margaritas and local lagers. Local musicians will play Fireside Sessions on selected dates next to the company’s Land Rover Defender, which doubles as a DJ booth.
The rest of Spitalfields at Christmas
Old Spitalfields Market, a short walk away on Horner Square, switches on its Christmas lights on Wednesday 11 November. The event runs from 4pm to 7.30pm, with the switch-on at 6pm, the market said. Made in Shoreditch’s Christmas guide has the market’s Christmas opening times.
The Thirsty Farrier is also running its original horsebox bar at the Covent Garden Christmas market from 4 November to 2 January.
