Pulse, a restaurant with a menu built entirely around beans and pulses, is opening at 227-229 Hoxton Street in November, starting with two free dinners on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November.
Guests at the soft launch will be able to try the menu “completely free of charge”, the restaurant says on its OpenTable page. Tables are for one to five people, with sittings at 6.30pm and 8.30pm only. A limited number can be booked now, and more reservations open on Monday 9 November.
The restaurant also plans a takeaway lunch hatch, Hospitality Week reported. The listing does not give a date for regular service.
What is on the menu
Dishes listed by the restaurant include a spiced black bean tostada with charred corn, avocado and pickled onion; herby sausage and tomato cannellini beans on toasted sourdough; and curried chickpea and roasted cauliflower with coconut, raisin and crispy onion.
There is also “Marry Me” cannellini agnolotti with parmesan cream and crispy sage, and a dark chocolate and white bean fondant with salted caramel for pudding. OpenTable puts the restaurant in its £25-and-under price band.
“Pulse means business when it comes to beans,” the restaurant’s listing says.
